This month's showcase is about the jewellery chain K&K which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Several events are planned. During first week after summer holiday all customers will get 15% discount on their shopping. The question is how to inform more than 100’000 customers about this campaign. . Sending the coupons would be too expensive and time consuming. Printing and delivering letters and coupons by postal service would cost far over 100’000 Euro. And since the idea of a post--holiday sale was made up just recently and there is not much time to inform the customers. Most of the registered customers have registered their mobile phone as well and agreed to receive SMS from K&K.

Fil Binelli, the head of marketing at K&K got in touch with ASPSMS on Thursday after lunch break to get information about sending large SMS bulks. The decision is made quickly - the information will be sent by SMS. The costs will be less than 5% compared to a mailing by postal service. The sending should take place on coming Monday. No Problem! Our support explains all technical and legal aspects of sending a bulk of SMS and the necessary credits are unlocked immediately.

The IT-specialist who is in charge at K&K exports all mobile numbers from their CRM into ‘SMS Blaster Windows Edition’ which only takes a couple of minutes. ‘SMS Blaster Windows Edition’ is the Software to be used if a bulk-sending exceeds a couple of ten thousand recipients. It is very effective and has several useful functions, such as finding duplicates, personalize and schedule SMS and much more.

The bulk-sending is terminated to Monday morning at 08:00. When the Send button is clicked all SMS are delivered to the ASPSMS system and stored there until Monday at 08:00. To make sure everything went right, Fil Binelli rings up ASPSMS at Thursday evening. Our technicians confirm the correct receiving of the 100’000 SMS to be delivered. At this moment work is finished for everybody involved in this campaign. The rest will be done by the ASPSMS.

Conclusion:

• It only took about two hours from first contact till successful delivery of the 100’000 SMS in desired time-window.
• The costs are less than a twentieth than a mailing by post.
• The customers get the coupon at Monday morning on their way to work and can use it over lunch or on their way home.
• Customers won’t lose the coupon or forget it at home, because they have their mobile phone with them anyway.
